Today the planet earth is busy fighting with a deadly virus Covid19 which has killed 2.71 million around the globe and counting on daily basis.

After a long span of 12 months when few vaccines (approved by WHO) were introduced in the market, everybody took a sigh of relief that Covid19 isn’t going to last long but still the threat is alive and thousands of people are losing their lives on daily basis.

Pakistan stands on 31st ranks worldwide in terms of Covid19 cases reported 627K, recoveries 582K and deaths 13843 till date but are we Pakistanis as a nations taking precautions to fight with this destructive virus? The answer is NO. We are the sleeping beauty doing nothing to fight with the deadly Virus but awaiting for the miracles to save us from the death.

It’s really sad to see many of the Pakistanis still not believing that Covid19 exists, our markets are overcrowded with desperate people coming for shopping despite knowing the dangerous outcome of not maintaining the social distancing. Moreover people are still roaming without covering their faces with masks, not maintaining social distancing, restaurants are crowded with no safety measures adopted, street hawkers are selling unhygienic food and people are not scared of it unless one of them becomes a prey of Covid19.

We as a nation are still sleeping and the big jump in the positive cases reported on daily basis is alarming but still we are not bothered to adopt the safety measures advised by the Doctors and health officials.

Our PM Imran Khan has tested positive to Covid19 despite being vaccinated, this is a wakeup call for all of us. Pakistan is a country with not the best medical facilities and all the hospitals are on high alert but things will go out of control when the amount of patients will increase more than the numbers of beds available in the hospitals (& not every hospital has the ventilator facilities).

We need to make sure to follow the SOP’s told by the medical officials before it is too late.

May Allah save us and the entire world from this deadly virus. Ameen
